Update on New Series, and an Important News Break!

Hey, everyone!

Lots of news for my Brookworms today!

First and foremost, I hope you are staying healthy and sane throughout this quarantine! I try not to mention it a lot on the show, because it's just too depressing, to be honest. But, I do worry about you all and hope that you are finding some entertainment, whether it be hear at the Brook with me, or elsewhere. Wash your hands, stay at home, and love you all!

Secondly, if you have noticed, there are some changes that have occurred to the logistics of the episodes of Brook Reading.  Well, I have made the move this week to Spreaker, and together, we have monetized the show.

I do need to tell you - you as a listener do not need to do anything!  Just keep listening, and keep downloading like you do.  Keep following the show and supporting me and my efforts, like you already do.  There will be 2 ads in the very beginning of the show, totaling about a minute.  The same thing will occur at the end of the show, after our special outro song.  There will only be one ad in the middle of the show, which will always be at the end of our promo break.  Since that was already a kind of a mid point anyway, I felt that it would be an appropriate place.

I also want to make a point that NOTHING about the content of the show will be changed.  Spreaker reached out to me because they liked what I was doing, so it would be silly to fix what ain’t broke! I still enjoy adding content like current events, some movie and TV stuff, and especially historical and feminist pieces.

Speaking of the new aspects of the show, this week is the beginning of a BRAND NEW adventure down the historical road, especially in regards to feminism and the political stage of the 60s and 70s. As I began to watch the Hulu original show, Mrs. America, I was struck with the idea to research all of the key women, read their respective books, and tie all of that information into a new series for Brook Reading.

I also want to include a list of the websites I used to research Phyliss Schlafly, if you are so inclined to check them out on your own.

Lastly, here is the link to the Indiegogo site for Queeng Playing Cards (featured in my 5 minute rant from Episode 87):

Enjoy some of these photos of the remarkable actors from Mrs. America alongside their historical counterparts!
